Currently Technical Lead Functional Safety in Advanced Safety and User Experience at APTIV Automotive. Key areas of experience include Automated Driving Assist Systems and Autonomous Driving Systems since 2000. Have worked in the automotive industry for ~32 years from software development for electronic climate controls, radios, steering wheel mounted accessory controls, CD players, etc., to SW process work with CMM levels 2 and 3, to automotive system safety work since 1998, and safety-critical systems research during Ph.D. work from 1994-1998. Member of the SAE and International System Safety Society. One of the founding members of Delphi's Safety-Critical Systems Center of Expertise. Co-developed system safety process for Delphi Automotive Systems (1998-2001). Developed a software safety process for automotive safety-critical systems in 2001-2002 for Delphi Automotive Systems. Was an ISO Working Group 16 technical expert involved in the development of the automotive functional safety standard ISO 26262 version 1 and initial development of version 2. US Technical Advisory Group in the development of ISO 26262. Was a member of SAE Functional Safety Committee and SAE Cybersecurity Committee. Major contributor to SAE J3061 Recommended Practice.
