This talk dives into the requirements from ISO 26262 to tools, as well as the requirements on code coverage from ISO 26262. Recently the open source compilers (gcc and clang) have added features that allow to measure MCDC coverage which is required for ASIL D. In the talk we present how these new tool features can be used and qualified for usage in safety related project up to ASIL D. We will also present some results (findings and bug reports) from the qualification. Also, the google test framework (gtest) can be qualified for projects using a Validas Qualification Kit.
