Sagar Behere is Director of Systems and Safety Engineering at Aurora since April 2020. As an experienced architect & lead researcher, he defines and leads Aurora’s rigorous engineering efforts to deliver safe and highly performant autonomous driving as well as directs safety research for autonomous driving. Sagar is skilled in software & firmware development, control systems design, functional safety, cybersecurity, embedded hardware, computer networking, and systems engineering. His recent focus is on safety, verification, and validation of autonomous driving systems, with an emphasis on architecture strategy, algorithms, simulation, software+hardware implementations, and supporting (model-based) systems engineering processes and tools. He holds a P.h.D in architecture for highly automated driving from the KTH Royal Institue of Technology, Sweden.
