Sudeep Fadadu

Staff Software Engineer, Aurora

Sudeep Fadadu is a Staff Engineer and Tech Lead at Aurora, where he develops fail-safe perception systems for self-driving vehicles. Sudeep has 10+ years of experience building algorithms for motion prediction, object detection, and sensor fusion technologies. Before joining Aurora, Sudeep was a research engineer at Vicarious AI (now part of Alphabet), where he developed closed loop AI control system and target tracking system for robotic arm platforms. He holds masters in computer vision from Carnegie Mellon University where he specialized in Machine Learning and Geometry based Computer Vision.

The Pop in Your Job – What drives you? Why do you love your job?
The challenge of safely integrating these powerful technologies into society is what truly drives me. I'm drawn to the development of novel approaches that can ensure AI-based automation is not only powerful but also safe, scalable, and truly beneficial to all. What excites me most is bridging the gap between theoretical safety standards and practical implementation of those in ML based systems. It's the opportunity to make a tangible, positive impact on the world that I love about my job.
